+ What is Bags VIP luggage delivery Service?
Bags VIP luggage delivery service is a service offered by American Airlines, in conjunction with Bags, to help make travel more convenient for customers. The service allows customers to bypass airport baggage claim and head directly to their destination. An agent will retrieve and deliver luggage to any address — including hotels, businesses, residences, and resorts — within 100 miles of the airport. The service is provided seven days a week, including holidays.
+ Can I earn miles with this service?
Not at this time.

+ How do I schedule a delivery?
You can place your Bags VIP order by clicking the “Book Now” button to the right. You will need your flight’s PNR/confirmation number (this is the 6 letter record locator that can be found on your travel itinerary) and your requested delivery address when completing the order.
+ Can I purchase this service at the airport?
As long as you place your order up to one hour prior to your flight’s scheduled departure.
+ Can I purchase this service through a reservation agent?
Not at this time. You can purchase the service online up to one hour prior to your flight’s scheduled departure.
+ Where is this service available?
Bags VIP luggage delivery service is available in more than 250 domestic U.S. airport locations. For a list of airports, please see our Airports Served page.
+ Can I add more than 10 bags to my order?
Each order can accommodate a maximum of 8 bags. Additional bags will require a separate order that will be charged at the standard rates.
+ How many people can be placed on my order?
Each order can accommodate one PNR. If multiple customers are traveling together under the same PNR, then they can include their luggage in the same order, up to a maximum of 8 bags.
+ Can I place someone with a different PNR on my order?
All bags must be checked in under one PNR to be included in the order. Otherwise, two separate orders for the service are required.
+ Can I use this service if I’m flying on an international flight that arrives at a U.S. airport?
In general, Bags VIP luggage delivery is not available for passengers arriving on international flights because of U.S. Customs and Border Protection policies. However, if the service is available at the destination airport, Bags VIP luggage delivery is available for international travelers arriving in the U.S. from airports with Pre-Clearance (listed on our Airports Served page), from U.S. Territories, or when an international traveler clears Customs at a U.S. airport prior to boarding a domestic connecting flight to their final destination.
+ How far in advance do I need to schedule a delivery?
Orders must be placed at least one hour prior to the flight’s scheduled departure time.
+ Can I still use the service if my requested delivery address is more than 100 miles from the destination airport?
At this time we are not offering Bags VIP service for addresses more than 100 miles from the destination airport.
Pricing
+ How do I pay for this service?
Payment for this service is made directly to Bags VIP using a major credit card (American Express, MasterCard, VISA or Discover card) at the time of order.
+ Can I pay for this service with an American Airlines gift card or a Fly Now Pay Later American Airlines credit card?
Payment for this service is made directly to Bags VIP, so we cannot accept American Airlines gift cards or Fly Now Pay Later American Airlines credit cards.
+ What does the service cost?
Base pricing begins at $39.95, which includes the first 2 bags plus the first 40 miles of delivery.
There is an additional charge of $10/bag for orders greater than 2 bags up to the maximum of 8 bags.
For deliveries over 40 miles from the arrival airport, there is a $1/mile surcharge added to the order up to the maximum of 100 miles.
+ Will I receive a discount if I’m an American Airlines AAdvantage Gold, Platinum, or Executive Platinum member?
Discounts are not being offered to elite members at this time.
+ Do I have to pay for airline baggage fees in addition to the fee for Bags VIP?
Yes. Any applicable baggage fees will need to be paid to American Airlines at the airport during check-in. Charges for Bags VIP are separate from airline baggage fees.
+ Is there a surcharge for overweight of oversized luggage?
There is no surcharge for overweight or oversized luggage.
+ Will I receive a group discount for orders that include a large number of bags?
At this time we are not offering group discounts. Standard pricing will apply for any Bags VIP order.
Delivery Process
+ How does the Bags VIP delivery process work?
Customers check their luggage with American Airlines before flight departure as usual. The luggage is then specially tagged by American Airlines to indicate that it will be picked up and delivered by a Bags VIP delivery agent. Agents will have a description of the bag, scan data, and delivery instructions to ensure that the correct bag is retrieved and then delivered to the correct address, which can be a hotel, business, residence, or any address within 100 miles of the airport. Bags VIP luggage delivery service is available 7 days a week, including holidays.
+ Do I need to prepare my bags for the delivery service?
No. During the ordering process, customers will be prompted to enter a detailed description of their bags along with any special delivery instructions. American Airlines will then print your bag tags with a special indicator that will help our representatives correctly identify your luggage.
+ How soon after flight arrival will my bags be delivered?
Our goal is to complete delivery within up to 4-6 hours of flight arrival. If you waive the signature requirement, our drivers will schedule your bags for immediate delivery. If you do not waive the signature requirement, you will be contacted by one of our representatives to schedule a time that is convenient for you to receive your luggage.
Please be advised that for all deliveries, we will not call or deliver luggage for flights landing after 10:00 pm. Luggage will be secured and stored with the airline's baggage service office overnight. We will resume contact and complete delivery service by noon of the following day. If your final destination address is a hotel, the luggage will be left with the hotel concierge. Deliveries made to a business will require a signature to receive the luggage.
+ If I have to gate-check a bag when boarding my flight, can I add that bag to my Bags VIP order?
If you need to gate-check a bag, it will need to be retrieved by you at the claim area. Bags VIP will deliver your original Bags VIP luggage delivery order.
Customer Service
+ How will I know if my order has been placed correctly?
Once the order has been placed, an email confirmation, including a confirmation number, will be sent to the email address provided by the customer.
+ Who can I contact if I have a question about my order?
If you have any questions regarding your order, please call 1-877-VIP-0045.
+ Is my luggage covered against loss or damage?
Yes. When your luggage is in the possession of American Airlines, it is covered under the terms found on American Airlines’ damaged baggage page or delayed baggage page. When your luggage is in the possession of Bags Inc., Bags Inc. will assume liability for lost or damaged luggage up to $500 per bag or $1,000 per passenger. Please refer to the terms and conditions section of the Bags Inc. website for further details and qualifications.
+ If my flight arrives on time but delivery is delayed due to inclement weather, am I entitled to a refund?
Delays due to inclement weather or traffic may require additional time to be delivered. Please contact customer service at 1-877-VIP-0045 if you have further questions.
Flight Changes
+ What happens if my flight is canceled or diverted?
If a flight is canceled and/or re-routed, customers should contact the Bags VIP call center at 1-877-VIP-0045 as soon as possible to advise them of the change. The order will either be cancelled at no cost or modified to reflect the flight changes.
+ What happens if I take an earlier flight than I booked?
If you take an earlier flight, pleases contact the Bags VIP call center as soon as possible at 1-877-VIP-0045 to inform us of the change.
+ What happens if my luggage is delayed and doesn’t arrive on the originally scheduled flight?
We will contact you to obtain the airline-issued bag tag numbers that you received when you checked your luggage. We will then file a claim on your behalf with the airline, refund your payment, and provide you with updates regarding your claim. The airline will be responsible for the final delivery of your luggage.
Cancellation
+ What is the general cancellation policy?
Customers may cancel an order up to 24 hours in advance of arrival time without penalty. Cancellations made within 24 hours of scheduled arrival time are subject to a $15 cancellation fee. Contact the Bags VIP call center to advise a representative of the change at 1-877-VIP-0045.
+ Can I cancel up to 24 hours in advance even if my travel plans haven’t changed?
Yes. You can cancel your Bags VIP luggage delivery order up to 24 hours in advance of your flight even if your travel plans have not changed.
+ What if my travel plans change after I’ve placed the Bags VIP order?
You may cancel an order up to 24 hours in advance of arrival time without penalty. Cancelations made within 24 hours of scheduled arrival time are subject to a $15 cancelation fee. Contact Customer Service at 1-877-VIP-0045 to advise a representative of the change.
+ Can I cancel my Bags VIP order right before my flight, without having to pay the $15 cancellation fee, if there are unforeseen operational issues and/or weather delays?
If you need to cancel your Bags VIP luggage delivery order right before your flight, please contact customer service at 1-877-VIP-0045 to inform them about the cancelation. The $15 cancelation fee may still apply.
